Dawn
is a life long learner and received a Master Degree in Public Administration
at Georgia State while working first for the American Heart Association serving
Clayton, Henry, Fayette and Spalding Counties; and then the Georgia Department
of Community Affairs.
Upon completing her Master Degree Dawn moved into public policy research
and advocacy. Over the last nine years she has been assisting statewide
non-profits
and associations advocate for drug-free communities, access to health care
and open government. In January of 2002 she ventured out to form her own
consulting firm to assist non-profits and associations maximize limited
resources and
advocate for their critical areas. She has successfully worked with many
legislators in passing several important bills and securing funding for
many programs.
Dawn is also an active mentor to young women entering the public sector
through her sorority and non-profit organizations. She serves as the President
of the
House Corporation Board for the Gamma Phi Beta Chapter at the University
of Georgia. Dawn supports many charitable organizations which focus on
people
with disabilities, homelessness, domestic violence, animal shelters and
the environment.
